Typewriters, books, Barbie dolls, knives - Every collector starts somewhere.

My personal flea that bit me are rifles of the Great War, particularly European infantry models. As this hobby allowed me to meet a ton of very interesting characters (you know who you are), I created this site to give some of it back. My intention is to provide a starting point for new collectors in my field (military small arms) to help them identify and learn the basics of what they might see in a shop, a video game, movie or grandpa's attic.

Over time I hope to grow this into a rather comprehensive database of what models existed throughout the late 19th and early 20th century, how they came to be and provide a good amount of reference pictures to accompany that information.

Thanks to aforementioned characters I hope to provide an array of models that extend past my own focus as well.
